Which countries can I use NuCorder in?

NuCorder does not restrict access to its recommended coverage area. However, the quality of a remote rehearsal depends on the distance between the musicians and the servers, as well as each participant’s internet connection.

With its servers currently located in France, NuCorder recommends using the service in mainland France and several neighbouring countries. In other countries, the service remains available on a best-effort basis: performance depends on the available conditions, and results cannot be guaranteed.

Can I use NuCorder from another country?

Yes. NuCorder does not block access from countries outside the recommended coverage area.

Musicians located relatively close to the servers may have a satisfactory experience, while greater distances or unfavourable network routes can make playing together remotely more difficult.

Your location alone is not enough to predict the quality of a session. The best way to find out whether NuCorder is suitable for your situation is to test it with the people you want to play with.

Why does distance matter?

During a rehearsal, each participant connects to a NuCorder server. Each musician’s audio must reach that server before being sent to the other participants. The longer this journey takes, the more noticeable the delay between musicians may become.

Quality depends in particular on:

• the distance between each musician and the server hosting the session;

• the route taken by the data over the internet;

• the stability of each connection;

• the use of an Ethernet cable;

• each participant’s computer, audio interface and settings.

A high-speed connection is therefore not enough on its own: stability and response time are also essential.

How can I test NuCorder from my country?

For a representative test:

1. Install NuCorderDesktop on each participant’s computer.

2. If possible, connect each computer to its router using an Ethernet cable.

3. Create a private session and invite the musicians you usually play with.

4. Check that the audio works in both directions, then play together for a few minutes.

The free plan lets you check your setups and test a private session for up to 30 minutes. You do not need a subscription to run this first test.
